I use and like Avast.  I've used Symantec and McAffee in the past and didn't like them because they were resource hogs that slowed down my gaming.

http://www.av-comparatives.org/ seems to do a thorough job of evaluating the effectiveness of various antivirus products.

Saw alot of negatives for Norton.

Whats the deal with them? I thought they were they top of the AV ladder
