Heck yeah, that one was tough. I think I gave up on that one & didn't even look to see where it was at when someone finally answered.  I just waited for the next picture. *grin*

Well my eyes hurt.  It's also tough when you have to stop at every old RAF airfield and read about it.  :lol

The only thing I can find that even looks close is the old AFB Upper Heyford.

You're pretty near to it. :)  Those are cool pictures, aren't they?
type airport into the search box once you're in the area. All of the airports should pop up with indicators, that way you don't have to spend all day looking =)

Actually, it may not pop up if you type in airport. I was looking at something near Huntingdon when that particular airfield originally caught my eye.

I forgot all about this thread! woot!
Back in a few!! :)

That's part of the Big Diomede Island.
I wouldn't know that, except I was talking with someone the other day about whether or not there was ever the supposed "land bridge" across that span... so I peeked up in that area when playing the other board's google earth game. :)

If you want to post one mbailey, you're welcome to. I got that last picture and was supposed to post the next one, but forgot.  I don't have enough time to post one for the next few days. :) I was gonna post the same picture from the FW thread, let y'all get it right, then go post the right answer over there, but decided not to. :D

Anyhow, mbailey, you're welcome to post a pic for us. :)

OK here we go

Near here is one of the longest free flowing rivers in North America; also in this same general area one of the last true battles of the civil war took place in early April 1865. Taken from about 15 miles up.

UPDATE:
The picture is oriented along the north south axis and is located in the Southeastern US. The river in the photo is one of the major rivers in the region and it is not the Mississippi River.
