Now that's a bunch of nonsense.

My opinion: Unperk the XIV and F4U-1C, leave the XVI alone.

The world would fall into anarchy.

Nah, not with the XVI around.  We are yet to see what would happen with an unperked F4U-1C in an arena full of XVIs.

Who complain about noobs in Spit16 should spent this time to learn some acm instead :joystick: Personally, i prefer ppl in spit16 rather than La7 or runstang, in spit they usually fight, at least.

I have been flying the 16 more, it is deserving of a perk, in the system the way it is run now.

in the right hands the 16 is pretty much unstoppable, 1 vs 1  and takes 3 or more to really give her a hard time, but 1 smart hurri2c driver at equal Alt, will easily send it to it's demise, then again a F4u driver will also wreck havoc on one if the situation is good and he knows his plane!

so will a P40 if the right stick is behind it!!

damn I truly think every plane should have a perk value :aok

Still seems odd the XIV is perked when the K4, which performs similarly or better in almost every way isn't even a 5 or 10 ENY  :noid :noid

 :rofl

Cause it don't have the firepower!

You gonna say it gots a 30mm?

 :rofl

IMHO the 30mm with the combination of server lag and net lag etc is a JOKE!

In fact I'm gettin so fed up with the lag situation and it's effect on gunnery that I'm thinkin of leaving AHII!

How many you see landing an equal number of kills a spit does?

I can land more kills ina Spit9 then a K4 in a single sortie and have done it!

totally agree, that thing is extremely hard to hit in, I cant, but there are those who can, who do exceptionally well.

I don't like the views of the K4 either, but that is how they were.

been flying the k4 a little past few weeks.

Not for me!

Got film of dead 6 shots at 200 or less and the *%$#@ tater goes everywhere but the target!  This with the site right on the target!

Got film of misses under 200 at nearly every kinda shot you can think of and the tater goes everywhere but where I aim it.

I can squeeze a lot more kills per sortie out of a 109 (F4, G2, K4 - doesn't matter which one) than I can get out of any Spitfire. And I never have those "lag" problems. I don't have any problems with my gunnery other than my own ability to hit (or to miss) my target. If it's a tater - One hit, fighter goes down. With the extremely rare exception (<1%) of an oil hit on a Spitfire ;)

Are you afraid of noobs?  :)

Depends whats your noob definition, you and wizer are spit16 flying noobs for example :neener:

My opinion: Unperk the XIV and F4U-1C, leave the XVI alone.

unperk the chog ? no thanks the arena would be FULL of them and the other cv planes would become hangar queens

I am pleased to see there is a consensus about unperking the spit14 :) Another choice would be to leave it perked, but give it the large drop tank, so it can use its superiority at Alt.

TA-152?  P-47M?  P-47N? FW-190D-9? 109K-4?  LA-7?  Yak-9?  Unperked.

The Tempest and Spitfire XIV are perked, when really they were used in more numbers and saw more combat then most of the aircraft listed above.  The only later war aircraft the British have unperked is the Spitfire XVI, which is essentially a Spitfire L.F. IX.  The others, with the exception of the Spit VIII, seem porked.  The Mossie is FUBAR and the Typhoon is crippled by torque which seems unfairly modelled compared to other powerful aircraft in AH (which is the same as the Spit XIV actually).  Does Mel Gibson have any input on this game?  Because it seems very anti British (or English).

British service dates: -

Hurricane Mk I ... 5-40
Hurricane IIC ... 4-41
