1) What was your reason for joining AH and what do you think about it since then?

I started when the open beta came out because AH had more gameplay than Fighter Ace, and flying the planes was more challenging for me (not enough people flew FA Real rooms).  I stayed when it went pay-to-play because I still liked it.  I keep my sub because I still like it, even though I do not play as much anymore.

2)Were do you see AH going in the next 2 years, and what direction would you like to see it go?

I don't care which direction it goes as long as they do not nerf things for the masses.  I personally see HTC attempting a well-rounded game (air, sea, land) ala WWIIOL but on a less grand scope (*please* do not *ever* try to appeal to the FPS crowd).  Air will always be #1 and the ground/sea/AA gunners are a nice diversion.  I think that this Christmas they will reward players who have been here for two years with a free month (hey I can dream!)

hehe fox....Yep those 100+ dollar bills were getting to all of us :-P.  I came to AH because of the price and I thought it surpassed everything i had ever played before and the community was very helpful.  The MA fragfest has lost alot of interest for me and I wish to god people would join historical events b/c it adds alot of depth which i am looking for....i dont like to do the same airplane vs. same airplane deal in the MA.  I like 109F vs. spit V etc.  Anyways this is the best game I've ever played and I hope it continues to get better  :).

Well, I found AH because Kesmai (Maninly Mage) refused to listen to the problems they had with lag, play, and Flight Model discrepancies.
AH (During Beta) the best damn sim ever made.

I am always a bit on the negative side, so forgive me.
I for one, like the old and nostalgic birds of WW2, and I would hope that more of the early war birds are put in the mix.
I don't like the "Jet Set" direction that HTC seems to be heading. But, I guess I am not one of the masses on this count.
I am ok with the FM currently, but I don't think it is as good as it was in Beta; indicates a wrong turn? (shrug)
Perks and other limiters...well, it is a game, I guess you have to force fairness with rules. Limit the current Ubber and the next most Uber will then be "The" Uber.

HTC has the most potential...wait and see I guess.

#1:The price..I refuse to pay per hour as Warbirds used to be and there is nothing that comes close to this sim that charges a flat rate.
#2:For the future of AH,I predict the price eventually dropping as AW dies,WB's wanes,WW2OL gets sorted out and Oleg's IL2 gets released.  :p

1) i played FA for 10 month and searched for a game with a more populated realistic enviroment, found it in AH cause only one level of realism in the arenas.

2) i found out AH bored me faster than FA, most often much to many time spend climbing for alt, and to few fights. Compensated that last tour by doing much ground work, but i am a fighter jockey and want to fight plane vs plane.
But what still gets me frustrated are some incredible performances others get out of their planes (cit, fariz, feed etc.) that i still cant copy or defend against. Hard to set up sparing fights with em also.
So what needs to be done, 1st AH must be more exiting, offer more fast fighting options for pure fighter jockeys and i must increase my skill a lot.

1. At the time, I was playing Su-27 Flanker V1.5 and wanted a WWII survey simulation but was high on realism. Tried EAW - was incrediably immersive, but lacked realism. Tried SDOE and it was realistic and with a huge community and you could play with 16 players online but it got boring after a while.  Tried AH for 2 weeks with my buddy GMAN and we were hooked.

2. I see AH changing how they charge for the game. Maybe a pay as you go, but I think with more players they'll charge $10~15 a month.  I see the game also changing into a combat environment for vehicles, ships and more aircraft.  It will be the true digital combat environment.

1) like a lot of ex-Wbers here about the time AH went into open Beta WB hit a brick wall at 1000mph. The connections went to crap. The servers started to fall over for long periods. The IEN staff were unresponsive. Plus the new boy on the block (AH) was FREE open beta, and was going to flat rate. Exit Vulcan from WB. HTC had a young product, but it matured very quickly.

2) In the future, well I think HTC are aware of the multitude of MMPOGs hitting the market, including WW2OL (even if it is a steaming pile of dog turd). They respond to legitimate suggestions, ideas, etc. Just look at the new terrain/reset thing, AND historical terrains. Trains are just around the corner. AH -> big better faster and sheep with more polygons than u've ever seen!

1)better than AW. Since then? I think the 38 still has to get fixed!

2)Would like it to go more towards strat team play gaming instead of the seemingly current trend to just throw in more stuff and letting it furball. Gawd, if AH graphics and flight model could be merged with a SWOTL-like MMPOG game... *drool*.

1a)  I joined AH in one of the last beta tours......followed hblair here after he mentioned it and talked me into trying it out......he knew I was sick and tired of the "we don't give a toejam" attitude iEn and Hotseat were dealing.  I tried it, was skeptical at first, then I got a better video card, and have been here every since.
1b)  HTC amazes me.......players suggest new ideas, and before too long, we have it in the game!  These guys care about the community, they're not just doing lip service when they say they will look into bug/problems in the game.  Refreshing when I remember the "it's our game, you fly what we want you to fly" and "I am tired of being bothered by you people and what you want" we always got when we asked Hotseat and company about gameplay issues.

2a)  I see AH continuing to pioneer unexplored area of flight simming.....while they will always have the normal stable of WW2 planes (109, 190, P51, P38, Spit, etc), only AH has those heretofore unrepresented aircraft......N1K2, Macchi 202/205, AR234, La5/7, etc......and I see them doing more of the "unique" or lesser known planes.....everybody models the Stang and Spit and 109.......only AH has the ones the really hardcore flight sim enthusiasts want to see and fly.

2b)  Hehehehe......I want to see them look at not only what the aircraft manufacturers sent out the front door, I want to see them look into what made a particular plane successful.......or survivable in combat (like uprating an engine for more power if it was done that way in WW2) and incorporate THAT into the game.  Also........while others may dislike the idea, what I want most is to see a historical arena.....one where you take a Spit up and you are not gonna be fighting a Stang, or another Spit, or any Allied plane.......the #'s in the MA may drop, but I think that will be offset by the folks who want to fight an historic battle.....Allies vs Axis, the was it was in WW2.
