My dad gave me a book today called
Before Centuries. Its a pictorial hostory of USAFE (United States Air Force Europe) from 1948-59.

It's decked out with a Red Soviet Star and even the cockpit was painted to give a bar type look of a Soviet Cockpit. The caption mentions it was for a "late 1940s film shoot".
We were discussing it and I mentioned it may have been for a Cold War propaganda film for the US Armed Forces. Any ideas what the USAFE was doing painting P-47s of the 86th Fighter Bomber/Fighter Interceptor Wing like Soviet Fighters, while stationed in West Germany in the late 40s?
Any chance this film is available?
