so i got have this ATI Radeon X1600 pro runnin, on my windows xp.
My suggested resolution is 1366X720 and 65Hz

the video card gives me options of adjusting and forcing these settings. aside from setting everything to max performance how should i change the settings and force settings so i can get my crap FR above 45 -30 frames... and still freezes for split seconds at a time...WTF!!

Let me know if more information is required. i set all the settings to what the monitor suggests. but FR still sux.......what do i do?

Nobody stated the most obvious I think - you need to upgrade your computer.

Faster CPU, faster displaycard, faster memory and more of it. With a few hundred bucks you can get a Phenom II + Radeon 4890 package or Core2Duo + Radeon or Nvidia. After that your framerate problems are gone.

And Ripley is going to help you pay for the upgrades.

He never ruled out the option to purchase new parts gyrene. It would be dumb to give him advice that will not really help him when you can point out his true problems instead.

How about wording like you're not assuming he has the money to spend...which in the absence of a specific statement by the OP as to whether he has extra money to spend or not...one should err on the side of consideration.

Myself I would have said, "If you have the money to spend, upgrading your computer with blah blah blah would be the best thing to do".

But then I tend to make recommendations based on the idea that people who work for a living have families to feed and not a lot of spare change unless they specifically state they have money to spend. You should try it sometime.

He did _not_ state in his post that hardware upgrade was not an option. He asked how he could get a higher framerate, period.

I posted he should consider a Ram upgrade.

1 gig ain't gonna cut it anymore.

2 gigs at least is needed.

Ram IS cheap.

With the junk running dealt with, and with 2 gigs of ram, AH should be flyable for 'em.

I'm sorry but you're clearly the one with comprehension problems. It's not your place to partronise the OP or me about this issue. He can make his own decisions based on the suggestions we give him here. It's not like I gave him totally antiquated and/or erroneus information like some other poster in this discussion has known to do.  :salute
