Plane stays the same pitch when you switch to gunner
« on: January 19, 2010, 12:25:50 AM »
Self explainatory,

Lets say your in an IL2 in a dive trying to out run a fighter, when you switch back to the gunner your plane goes in auto pilot and levels...YOUR TRYING TO OUT RUN A FIGHTER WHY WOULD YOU LEVEL OFF!? ... instead of leveling off your plane stays in the dive and your able to jump in the gunner position and shoot while maintaining the dive.

This would simulate having two people in the actual plane.

Now I know the question of the bombers will come up on switching to the bombadier position. Well it could coded to where if you want the way you control the plane now with a gunner, you have to press auto pilot on before switching to another position. If you want the plane to stay at the same pitch and roll before you switch, you simply do not turn the auto-pilot on before switching.

Just before switching to gunner from the pilot's seat. I haven't tried Shift X myself, but I know Alt X does work. If not you can always trim your plane down and then shift X from the backseat.

Shift-X works. I use it when I'm spilling alt in a b-17.

Shift X only works with the Y axis. I for one would like my planes control surfaces locked to what ever position they were in before I went into the guns.

Crashing into the ground would ensue.

Shift + X, jump in a gun, and rudder to turn instead.
