importing old stick preferences.
« on: December 18, 2009, 05:18:22 PM »
I've got old stickprefs that I want to bring into the current version.  I have overwritten the factory ones in both the settings and stickdef folder but it keeps saying all the buttons are not assigned!

They are CH Fighterstick USB, pro pedals, and throttle.

The files are the .jsm for each one.

Running windows 7, fresh current install of AH.

think there's 2 files.

flighcontrol.jsm and fighcontrolsystem.jsm or something like that make sure you transfer both.  actually you can transfer the settings folder, that will also transfer your plane views, etc.

you dont want me to ho, dont point your plane at me.

I couldnt find either of these files in my old AH backup.  I literally took the whole directory last year and archived it.  BTW my plane views all work replacing the settings folder, but no stick settings.

Ok, you have done a fresh install, so you gonna have to recalibrate in windows 7, and CH Control Manager... you do not have to use CH Control Manager after you have calibrated though.  Since Aces High recognizes CH stuff......

once this is done. even though you have backed up and re installed your old .jsm files from previous. you still will need to go in and assign the different axis to each controller. then calibrate in Aces high........

the biggest problem for it not picking up the saved/backed up jsm files and stuff. is the way the boot up is assigning the Stick/Throttle/pedals in the USB root or hub controllers ID system thingy majig.......

once you get it recognized the first time, then you should be okay from there on .......

then , like Fugitive has posted  well kind of ) all your settings from before as for the different keys being assigned to buttons should work just as they did before.......

I hope this helps.......

you will find the same information regarding USB CH Stuff and Windows 7 or Windows Vista over at the CH Hangar forums........

Good Luck
