AH AC Performance vs Real Life Preformance
« on: January 26, 2010, 01:14:37 AM »
Came across this sit that showed aircraft flight performance from U.S., U.K., Japan, and Germany.  I compared some of the charts that they showed with what AH have.  what do you all think?

I think its a great resource and the combat reports are fascinating reading :aok

I'm guessing HTC have used alot of the data when modelling AH, after all theres a limited supply of these kinds of reports.

And AHII comes amazingly close for the most part. Of course, there is always a variance in tests. You'll note that actual tests for the D9 showed a top speed on the deck anywhere from 360mph to 380, for instance!
"Crikey, sir. I'm looking forward to today. Up diddly up, down diddly down, whoops, poop, twiddly dee - decent scrap with the fiendish Red Baron - bit of a jolly old crash landing behind enemy lines - capture, torture, escape, and then back home in time for tea and medals."

What 'we' tend to forget that there was a huge discrepancy in intra-model performance due to different production quality and moreover different maintanance quality - no two planes performed the same. I come to think that this variance might have been greater than the inter-model performance variance in some cases. We always fly factory-fresh planes which does not reflect reality. Some random variance would be nice - a la - life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you gonna get!  :bolt:

You are right.  when i saw the speed at level in the 190D-9, it was different by 15-20 mph when they used 6 or 7 of them.  With all i read to compared to AH, AH really had it the same performance.
