I had the same thing happen to me no too long ago. I ended up bringing it to a shop and found out it was a bad motherboard. So that is when i decided to do a total rebuild. I scabbed some parts from my old comp and reused them but i know what you are talking about, unfortunately.

That's JUST what I didn't want to hear! But I'd rather know the truth than lie to myself to make me feel better, lol

I already got the mobo requested for RMA from Gigabyte, if the CPU died when I took it out and bent afew pins then I'll send it back too, I'm GLAD I bought those things under warranty!

I recently had this problem due to a faulty power supply. Apparently if there's enough power to start everything up but the motherboard never receives a "good power signal" (read: data from the PSU) it won't initialize.

Doesn't really seem plausible as he's sometimes able to get into the BIOS, where, if it's able to get into that stable, it has power enough to run.
It really sounds like a bad mobo. If it's under warranty as you said, it's a fairly easy fix if you find 15 minutesish to spare to hook it all up.

Good luck, and if you need any help, PM me.  :salute
Sometimes, we just need to remember what the rules of life really are: You only
need two tools: WD-40 and Duct Tape. If it doesn't move and should, use the
WD-40. If it shouldn't move and does, use the duct tape.

The instance in where it happened to me the PSU was supplying power and the system would power up (fans/hard drives/opticals/floppies) but the monitor wouldn't wake from Power Save.

Bent pins are easy to fix, you will need .7 or .5 mechanical pencil. Just be prepared to spend at least an hour and a half working on it.

I just used a regular pair of needlenoses...though that was a Socket 478. Now I have jeweler's pliers.
