Been here just over 2 years - didnt have a clue when I started, and still dont have much of one now  :D. We should help newbs imo, but they can also help themselves by reading what is available to read, learn the basics and then ask if they dont understand something.

I'll try and help anyone with anything, that said, not much I can teach anyone as still learning myself  :P

I'm the worst pilot ingame ya know!!!

It's all unrealistic crap requested by people who want pie in the sky actions performed without an understanding of how things work and who can't grasp reality.

What it boils down to is that I will help those that help themselves. As Wurz said, they should read the help files to garner the basics. Telling someone how to start their engine shows lack of preparation on their part.

i posted this link in some other threads......but.....watch in to about 3:00, where he starts going over a preflight. also note the dive recovery flaps at 4:00...which you can see in operation.

then at 6:00, he starts covering the startup sequence.

so see? "how do i start my engine?" is a reasonable question.  :D :neener: :noid

I was a Heavy Equipment Instructor over seas, I taught both foreign nationals, and Americans how to operate.  The one thing that I always told them was,"Never Forget where you came from".  If you forget that you were a beginner once, then you wont help other people learn.  One of the guys that I taught to operate is not one of the top operators for the Turkish Army.  Now HE is instructing, and that is one of the things that I am really proud of.  God knows it isn't my flying ability in the game. :D

i offer help whenever someone asks for it, i am capable at that point in time, and they seem receptive to said help.  :aok
