Sounds like it's only getting a wee bit of power captain. Make sure you have the 6 pin or 4 pin cable plugged in by the CPU. Usually just left. Also, check all other connections.

kinda dumb question, does the bios in the system now support ez flash 2...i had a asus some time ago but when i upgraded the bios i had , how to say it, I manualy flash the bios till I was at a cetain upgraded version then i could use the software utility.in other words the older bios version could not use the ez flash till it was upgraded.
also switching CPU should put bios in default after new cpu in or clear the bios.

When you change the CPU, ram or any other component in your system you must clear the bios settings by resetting the CMOS. Usually this is done by removing the CMOS battery for a few seconds.

If you miss this step it's possible that bios settings left over from your previous hardware are so incompatible with your new hardware that they won't start at all or even get damaged.

Does your computer still have a floppy drive? It's still the most reliable way to flash bios (going into dos prompt on floppy). The ez flash 2 is supposed to have a bios udpate utility within the bios so you don't even need to boot into the OS, just go to bios settings, choose ez flash, start it and read the new file from a floppy.

I tried using floppy that I made from the manufatures web site but it didn't work.  Then I found a bootable cd from the same place downloaded and burnt it.  Nothing works.

What exactly did you try to do with the floppy? Describe steps.

I have the same exact motherboard.  I've honestly flashed it 5 or 6 times.  Every time I've done it I used Asus' Windows Utility for flashing.

Did you remember to boot from the floppy/CD when attempting to flash your BIOS?

I finally got it to work using the windows utility.  Now the ez flash works too after the update.  Had a fps of 66-75 with everything but smooth shadows turned on ;). And I haven't even put the new video card in yet!
