The germans would torpedo shipping in the mouth of the Thames and along the east coast ports of england. There were constant air fights involving seaplanes as fighters and shipping harrasers. Brandenburg style seaplanes controled the North Sea airspace for some time during the war. A bavarian nobleman using a seaplane fighter became the scourge of the Adriadic against the italians.
