Mannable guns
« on: December 17, 2009, 02:53:57 PM »
Ok this is just my opinion/wish. I thought the game was for air combat, but lately I have seen ppl who would much rather sit in a gun then up a plane. I wish HTC would make it so that it doesn't show anybody landing kills in a gun. I think that this would help a lil by making the person up and fight if they want to get their name in lights. I know there is a time for using the guns. Like if your base is capped it would just be stupid to up and give kills to the enmy if they didn't earn it. I am seeing alot more ppl not want to actually get in a fight, not sure what is going on. Why are so many ppl scared to die in a cartoon plane. I am not trying to tell ppl how to have fun. This just my opinion. <S> my whine is over.

Nope.  As of right now the only reward for using a mannable gun is the name in lights.   Mind you, mannable guns are my last choice for defense not my first.

I don't see what the problem is with this, ship and field guns don't even count to score do they?

Are you just complaining that some people are landing kills in a gun?

I don't understand.

I could care less about scores and the name in lights. What I am trying to get across is, I thought this was mainly an air combat game. Well I see alot more ppl rather man the guns instead of actually upping a fighter to fight. I think most of these ppl just want to get their name in lights. I think if we were to do away with the name in lights it might get some ppl to actually up a plane and fight. I am here for a fight not for someone to sit in a gun and not take a risk dieing in a cartoon plane. I am not that great of a pilot so most of these ppl would probably be able to shoot me down, but they much rather sit in a gun then up a plane.

There have been many occasions where the vulchers have been driven off by manned ack, allowing people to up and kill troops. 5 or 6 skilled gunners can make all the difference when the VH is porked and the cherry pickers come in and do their thing, especially when there is no attempt to take the base, just going for easy kills. I want my name in lights for my part in a base defense,so a big

IMO, You're really overstepping your bounds here.  So what if they are enjoying sitting in a gun.  There are PLENTY of other planes up to go fight.  Are the people in GVs any different?  Should their names not get lit up because they aren't fighting you in the air?

I guess I am the only one who actually likes a dogfight, and not be lame and sit in a gun instead of upping to fight. Just to be clear I will let somebody up and not vulch them, so that I could have a dogfight. If ppl are vulching by all means get in a gun and stop them. Guess ya'll missed that part in my first post.

There are plenty of people willing to fight you in the air, I find it funny that you are getting so upset because one person may choose not to fight in the air for a while.

Let people play how they want.

Guess u missed the part where I said I am not telling ppl how to play. My thing is if I travel to a base where there was a fight but everybody got shot down why would u not want to up and fight. Guess I am just trying to figure out why ppl wouldn't want to fight since this is a air combat game.

I'm talking to a wall here, lol, you're saying "people can play how they want" but I think people shouldn't be allowed to do what they want when I want them to do something else.

FYI, I'm done with this thread before it gets too out of hand.

Guess I am talking to a wall also, I didn't say for them not to be able to use the guns, I am just trying to see why ppl perfer not to dogfight in an air combat game.

-1 so you want "understanding" about why people don't play this game the way you think it ought to be played.  :huh. How about because we all pay the money to play this game and we will play it the way we want when we want using the tactics we want (as long as we don't upset the admins  :noid)..... you are presenting yourself as one of those people who complain about "unfair" tactics instead of actually challenging them on the field. Yes this game started as an air combat game and it primarily still is.  However, obviosly there is enough support amongst the customers for other aspects besides pure and simple air combat, if there weren't, Hitech wouldn't have developed and continued to support those aspects of the game experience. There are many reasons why people play the way they do....as long as they don't CHEAT you should give them the same respect that you demand for your abilities.  :salute
