As much as I hate the Gators, I respect Urban for what he has done with that program.   I wish him only the best.

Health reasons due to the beating Nick Saban put on him!  :)

Whatever the circumstances, he was one hell of a coach.  I wish him the best!

Read from other boards that it is rumored he had a cranial cyst. Just a rumor but not good, considering that ESPN said that he was fine in short term health but future problems.

I immediately went WTF when I heard it during the pitt/NC game.  I went on espn right after and nothing was even shown until good half hour later. Didnt think he would have retired considering he said he was staying at Florida when the ND rumors went up and about and that he would coach there for at least another decade.  Not only about the health problems but he probably is facing burnout putting the Gator program where it is and just by the espn articles about his recruiting, he puts a lot of time into it.  A D3 coach puts a lot of work into a football program let alone a huge program like the Gators.

There are several rumors going around though about what might actually be his health problems including the cranial cyst as well as malfunctioning valve in one of his blood vessels for causing his chest pain.  IMO though, its none of the public's business what it is.

It is mentioned that he will be staying in Gainesville and playing a role in the Gators program somehow.

Replacement options have rumored as Charlie Strong returning as the contract with Louisville apparently wasnt signed on a formal contract and Bob Stoops has been rumored.

Hopefully the Gators find their replacement and stay strong for next year and in the hunt as always.

Yes Im a Gators fan.   :rock
