Thats like how it is in RoF, no spawning in your plane with full throttle and ready to go.  Takes at least 3-4 minutes from start up to taxi to take off.

World War I Air News:
Work on the WWI expansion is progressing along and will be in the next version. We had hoped to have it completed by the end of this year but we're running a little bit long with development. We expect to have it out in the early part of the year.
