cant see skin in offline

I made an "Old Crow" skin that still needs a bit of work. I can see it in the skin viewer but I cannot get it to upload in the offline arena. Is it because there are already 15 skins for the 51 in my skins folder? Secondly, what is the faster or easier way to get rid of the white and black stripes on the 51's wing?

Did you add the text file into the folder you are working with?  The file name should be 51B and inside the file call it "my skin" or something of that nature.  As for the invasion stripes, it depends on you approach to skin itself.

The file is named p51d_1, I do have a txt file named something like p51.txt.

This is what I have so far. I have the created folder under the skins directory listed as p51d_1. In the folder I have the bmp file, the p51d.txt, and the materials.txt file. Did I miss anything?

The number after the name on the folder has to be one more than the number of skins in your folder.

For example:If there were 6 P51D skins you would name your folder p51d_7, hope this is correct.

I looked in the folder and found 15 skins already. I deleted the first one (p51d_1) and named mine the same way. When I go offline, it does not load new skins, but when online it downloaded the original skin I had deleted.  Any ideas?

Ok,  download and unzip this file to you "skin folder". http://www.mediafire.com/file/tyjggyznun2/TryThis.zip  Put your edited P51D.bmp file in this and scroll through the list of 51 skins.  It will be named dhartsSkin.

IT WORKED!!!!!!!! Now I can actually see what it looks like in flight. If I remember right, it only shows up in the offline arena correct? Still needs a bit of work.

Well then let me fly my skin just for myself till you work out the red tape for me.

I had an idea Skuzzy on the skins, check the wishlist forum under "wish on skins". I think it would solve all the problems about the amount of skins for the game.
