AvA Monday, New time 10pm est
« on: December 28, 2009, 01:59:44 PM »
My apologies to those who tried to play last Monday afternoon and found the arena empty.

I tried. Some of my squaddies did show up a little late and we had a good time.

For now, we have decided on a later start time when more people will be available to play.

I would very much like to have an afternoon event, but at the present there doesn't seem to be enough demand. Maybe someday.

Last night turned into a really great night. although i was tiring of see SWtargets name in the text buffer as the one who killed me, turn about was fair play.

there was no nasty banter, HOing was at an absolute minimum, it was no less then a pleasure to play in there last night. I havent had that much fun in there in over a year.

now if we can just get people to play in there regularly, it would be a great change.

the AVA is a special arena, it isnt like the MA's. People go in for a clean fight and last night thats what we had!

<S> to everyone that played last night! Keep up the fun! See you next time!

P.S the Allies could use a little help  :D

was an "experience" last night to say the least........

trying to even trim my cartoon plane after taking off, was a task.......with the Wind Turbulence......many even in a fight, the cross winds / turbulence could throw you all out of position......

the no dar / no icons for any enemy  opponents below 500 ft AGL, was dicey...... was my 1st time experiencing both of these features..... added alot more emersion feeling to the whole thing......

I enjoyed the fights.. and both sides seemed to work together, and use comms ........ ( I flew Allied, then switched to Axis, to help try keep it even flowing ).....

got alot of stuff on my plate, but hope to maybe get in there and fly some more in this setup......

a big WTG to ya MrFork on this Arena Setup......... ( I hope it is not gonna be the everyday norm though........well at least the crosswind part  :D )

~SALUTE~ all of ya who was there last night..........

Hey TC !
I agree with ya on the above quotes !
FUD made minced meat out of me. The planeset was not my favorite but stayed in for a few scraps !

The "no icon" stuff is awesome ! This setup should be used more often and CRANKED up to 5k even 10k !

Flying at that alt when you know there's no icon to help you would be very very intense and require top notch
concentration ! Now you're looking for dots ! Nothing more fun when bouncing an enemy when he's not expecting you !
I was bounced from under by FUD and he surprised me. Looked back and had to look twice since the ICON wasn't there ! There he was at approx 400-600 ! His camouflage of his 109 mixed with the terrain. The only thing I saw was the spinner and the black crosses !

When time permits, I will certainly return to AvA.
Hopefully I will gain bit more experience with the P51.

P51 IS a Spit, they just upgraded it and lost its original character to gain speed and keep up manufacturing.  Check me on my history on this (poetic license included)  :lol

I thought it was a lot of fun 2nite,

About 19 or 20 guys at peak.

And it was repeated the second week.  Lots of fun last night, some good fights, lots of nice manners, even Dedalos was well-behaved.  Thanks to Jimson and his squad, and all the others who followed them in.

Man, what a helluva good time!

For the life of me, I can't figure out why this arena isn't always full.

Once you see what a fun challenge it is finding ways to use an unfamiliar planes strengths against another's weaknesses, you sure don't miss your "spixteenchogmjug".

Never thought I'd look forward to Mondays.
