30 eny plane..... must be an easy one to fly. 30 eny usually means older bird.

You don't live for the fight..... do you play airport or something?
Not as easy as the Spixteen or Pony...both training wheels.

:rofl airport, nice...no my cyber testes just don't need to be acknowledged by any toonville pile-its because I beat one person or another...if dueling gives you wood, then have at it.

The best dogfight is the one you win with enough ammo and fuel to get into more dogfights before you get shot down or return to base.

LOL  another one that can't learn anything from dueling .  :rofl
Learn what? I don't see a single person posting here that cannot have his toon plane shot down...offer to teach me how to never get shot down in a dogfight and I might listen.

I have squad mates to duel with...and if I really want to learn something, I'll grab a trainer.

Nothing to learn from guys like  Batfinkv , Grizz , Skyrock , Shuffler ,Larry ? Trainers are great I have had sessions with most of them . Busy men though , with different schedules then mine . I have learned alot from guys that aren't trainers . Oh and btw I have learned alot from trainers before they were trainers , Delirium and Moot to be exact . Both spent a fair amount of time with me before joining the Trainers . I am still in the NOOB class "I" aint qualified to teach you anything .

I dunno Cap, I'm probably too much of a noob to see the Spixteen as being difficult to fly...it's a hell of a lot easier than the 190A8.

No offense Hlbly...but I just don't see how dueling is anything more than toon dogfighting with agreed upon rules...it's like someone telling me I'm not willing to learn anything because I don't want play his game by his rules...is dueling with you or anyone else going to teach me how to deal with 2 or more adversaries? What maneuver is it going to teach me to properly execute at every point in the fight? Am I going to learn how to second guess the person whose in front of me while checking behind me for another plane?

Ok, so we duel in our toon planes after we agree on some rules...you shoot me down...not because I don't know what to do but because I'm not real good at doing it...or because I over reacted...maybe a game glitch kicked in at the critical moment...what exactly am I going to learn? That somewhere between 30 seconds past the merge and 2 minutes into the fight I scissored instead of executing a hammerhead? So every time you duel the exact same situation arises...that's not dog fighting, it's dancing.

Tell me you're going to be in the cockpit with me and tell me everything to do through vox while I'm dog fighting someone else until I can do it without the coaching and that will be teaching me something.

Hurris have training wheels too.

You miss the point of dueling all together. Win, lose, or draw..... it is all about learning. Both shooter and shootee can learn something from a fight.  When you learn from it... nobody loses. No chest thumping to it.

To help or be helped in developing a series of moves to help one come out on top is more than enough to make all involved winners.

Doesn't that sound a lot like working with someone (squadmate, buddy, someone that offers help) in the MA's? And wouldn't learning how to deal with multiple adversaries (like you find in the MA's) be more useful for dueling 1v1 than vice versa?

Overall, yes it is going to help you. It allows you to be able to press your plane harder than you thought. This allows you to kill quicker or reverse from a bad situation. Also, it gives you confidence knowing that you are better than the other guys.

Flying into 10 mobs in the MA getting face shot by them teaches you nothing.

If you want to FIND OUT how much YOU DON"T KNOW the join one of "ardy123's" dualing sessions when there is an all star cast on board, such as Grizz, Kappa, SunsFan, and many others.

I'm not kidding.

You really want to know whats up come in the DA and join one of the sessions.

You will quickly find out how much you have to learn.

I haven't read every post here but I've been playing AW and AH since 1996.  I thought I could do ok in the MA's and in a one-on-one.  I've never had any training.  I've learned everything I know by flying, fighting and either winning or dieing.  During the dueling tournaments I've been beat quickly in the first round each time so I posted in the Help and Training forum for some dueling help.

I spent a couple of hours last night in the TA and DA with the Widowmakers and learned more in that time than I could have (or ever have) in months (years) of MA trial and error.  In particular, I learned how I most often get beat by the better sticks in the game, both in the MA and the DA.  I've seen the same scenario ("move") play out against me for years and could never quite figure out how to combat it.  Admittedly I don't film or watch or study films.  The game takes up enough time.  But after a couple of hours with some good sticks in the DA I'm beginning to think I have a chance against the "move" that always got me.

So as "artificial" as dueling is it's a valuable tool and I'm sure what I learned will go a long way toward helping me in the MA.  What I've seen happening to me in both places is the same.  After years it only took a couple of hours in the DA to figure at least part of it out.
