Flight Simulator X
« on: January 13, 2010, 09:27:28 PM »
Do the terrain graphics always look like crap or can they be adjusted to look like they do in the pictures.  I have gone into the settings and moved the detail sliders all the way up and it still looks exactly the same.  Am i doing something wrong?  Advice is welcome  :salute

Some pictures have been taken with hi-res add ons....also you will have less detail over back country Montana than a metro area like NYC.

There are graphic settings within the game, but you have a REALLY good computer to run them all the way.

I run max settings on everything with a dual core AMD (5000+) and PNY 9800 GT EE video card at 1680*1050 resolution with no add-ons.

Will run a 30-40 frame rate in heavy weather and traffic areas....

In my opinion Aces High would look a lot better (approaching FSX) with higher resolution elevation bmps. However, the tools are there to make the terrain tiles and 3d ground clutter equal to FSX already. The Aces High everyone sees is not what could be done with more time and energy. AH is capable of supporting 4096 terrain tiles which I have done before just to try it.

This is from in the game, taken directly from Google Earth....

Follow this link and read completely through what NickN suggests on graphics settings HOWEVER if you use an SLI system you should know that nhancer is not really a good idea (not in my opinion anyway):

If you like the Sick Puppy Custom Sound Pack the please consider contributing for future updates by sending a months dues to Hitech Creations for account "Chalenge." Every little bit helps.

was just about to post the same link...

in any FS the best way to adjust it majorly is through the Nvidia (or likewise) software not with the game itself.
