For any of you who have been following my year, it has been, well... bad. Until today. I just got a letter saying I have received a full four-year, full tuition paid plus monthly stipend, scholarship courtesy the United States Navy!

Congrats.  Take it seriously because a lot of people are going to invest a LOT of time and effort in your development.  If you make it through the program, awesome, we need people of character to do important things for our nation.  HOWEVER...  If you ever want to quit, don't fuxor around, just do it and get on with the rest of your life.  The job is too tough and important to have people in the business who don't want to be there.

YES!!! lol. Assuming I get into a college, lol. It was either this or enlist, because, well, I just don't have the money to pay for college out of my own pocket.

Don't worry Eagl, I have been working at this all my life. Its a step down from the Academy, but after the whole transcripts screw up, I was lucky to get this.

Congratulations Serenity! If this is what you want to do then take it and run. Just one bit of advice tho. There are 2 jobs you will have in the military. 1: The job you have in the military and 2: the job of being in the military. It's not a matter to be taken lightly. My family has served in the armed forces counting back to the Civil War (Confederates, apparently some guy marched through Georgia and burnt down our house), and one thing we were always taught was Service first. Don't think of this as a step down. You're getting an opportunity that many others would kill for. Be proud of that. Good luck and go with our prayers.

Academy - Schademy.  I was a 90 day wonder.  In the end, a lieutenant (ensign to you) is a lieutenant.

Stay sharp.  Have fun.  You will do things that will stay with you for life.  My dad passed away at 80 and, to his last days, he spoke of his Navy experiences with nostalgia.
