Mic issues

Can't get mic to work with new windows 7 64 rig.
It isn't muted and boost is set to max.
I've tried another mic, no dice.
It is onboard sound since creative decided to drop support for my old 5.1 live card.
Any suggestions?



Edit: Found it. There are 2 sets of mic lvls. One in mic settings and one in general sounds.

under control panel, sounds, recordings, right click then unselect show disabled/disconected devices.   that should only leave the mike you have connected. mike sure its your default device.

then in your control panel select speech recognition, set up mike and follow the instructions.  make sure your mike is connected first.
