Lovely to see the Japanese side trying to use a 1937 dive bomber and 1938 torpedo bomber in a 1944 scenario.  Certainly makes the outcome easy to predict, even if by some miracle the A6M5s can gain air superiority.

Was just in there.  Nice set up... but there seems to be a problem with the LVT's.  Half of the time they wont go forward, and you also cant get out of them unless someone kills you.  Several people had the same problem with them, so it wasnt just an issue on a user end.

Is this something you guys can look into?

Guess we need a few new planes from the Japanese list in the wishlist forum.

AKP, in the AVA section someone said the LVT issue has something to do with the wind.

Maybe they can enable the 61 off the CV, though not accurate, it may help the Jap's cause.

Agreed Jill and Judy are both long overdue to the dance. However the OP is doing the best he can with the aircraft available.

Flew a little today and found the A6M5 to be pretty competitive, allowed me to get a few kills and I'm not very good.

I think it's a good set-up.

Are the TBM's and SBD's on the allied side that much stronger?

I posted this in the AvA but just in case somone misses it.

We got the required troops in (Knights) for Japan and it gave the base to the bish!.... now when we roll more troops they disappear as if an ack is up or its our field (both were not true as we de-acked it again)

then i switched to US (bish) and sent 50 troops to the map room to see if it would turn Knight. it did not...

So basically the knights took the field but it gave the field to the bish and then shot at us in our LVT's. And the knights have no way to take midway.

On a side note the terrain is way off as some LVT's will be rolling on the water from the Bish side when they are clearly not close to shore. and the Knight side the LVT's will be on the runway and still in the water.

Well, I've been in so far and have:
Killed a running bombtruck F4UD, killed a running 38, tried chasing down a running F4UD, got into a 3v1 until friendlies arrived, once one killed, 2 ran. I understand the Zeke can turn, but come on...I did mix it up with a F4U1A until he eventually ran away...really wish the Japs could have a plane that could maybe match the run power of the others.

Really wish the Japs could have a plane that could maybe match the run power of the others.

One of the nice things about the PAC setups is that they really do demonstrate the history pretty well.  In the ETO you'll have comparatively minor differences between the opposing sides' planes, but you can usually fly a plane that will match the one you meet.  In the PAC that is much less often the case, just as it was in real life.  You have to focus on your plane's strengths and weakness to a much greater extent.

Having said that, a well-flown A6M5 is a very difficult plane for the Allies to defeat.
