« on: January 25, 2010, 04:37:26 PM »
Please give us your feedback on the event This Day in WWII:  Battle of the Bulge.

Today at 8 pm UK time was the first time we ran it; and we will be running it at 10 pm Eastern Time today as well.

Thanks to all who played in it!  :salute  :aok

I liked it.

Was pleasantly surprised at the good daytime turnout.

Wish I could have stayed to finish it.

Great turn out.
Awesome battle

What we should do, weeks ahead of time, have somebody be CO.  Everybody that want to do this again select what side they want, have them assign to what group, target and so on.  I would also suggest have a bulletin for the allies and one for the axis.

I played in the 10pm ET running of it.

Although I couldn't concentrate fully on playing in it, what I experienced of it seemed fun, and it seemed like folks were having a good time.

I have posted the logs here:

In the "This Day in WWII" portion of the page.

Do you want these "this day in WWII" event to run on the same day as it did in history?  Could you run these on Friday night when we do not have FSO?

We'd like to run them on the actual day when possible, but also we don't want them to conflict with other events.

There are some that should really have the same day (Pearl Harbor, D-Day, etc.).  Some others (Battle of the Bulge, Stalingrad, etc.) could be run on a range of days.

Yea, i do like the idea to have it on the same too.  For the first even it turn out great.  But i think we should have a assign CO a head of time and assing targets as well as assign sides for others that want to join in.

I really think you should do something like this on a Saturday night US time, selfish request because I liked it a lot and if it wasn't Australia day I would have been at work and missed it. FSO falls on a Saturday afternoon for me and to have something like this on Sunday afternoon would surely get me a Divorce.  :t
No thank you Turkish, I'm sweet enough.

These will run on various days (depending on the date of the actual event being commemorated) and times -- with luck such that some of them are not at times so inconvenient for Australians.

Also, each one is different depending on the event.  We disabled aircraft after 1 hour in the Battle of the Bulge just to better enable the ground-war part.  Most of the episodes will have aircraft available the full 2 hours of the event (such as Monday/Tuesday's Stalingrad episode).
