190F rockets
« on: January 29, 2010, 12:17:21 PM »
Are they anti-tank rockets, or just HE?

they don't seem very effective against tanks.

They are anti-tank rockets.  You can kill any tank in the game with only a single rocket if you aim well.

takes some practice.  before the damage / assist update 1 or 2 well placed rockets on a tank would guarantee you the kill when he eventually got killed by another tank.   :devil   (if you didn't get him)

haven't reallly tried it recently though.  I tried a little de-ack experiment with them and they do a great job at killing acks too.  With 12 you can get alot of guns  ;)

I personally have a hard time getting kills on tanks with rockets, but if you are a good shot they are very lethal.  That being said, the 190-F is my favorite ride in the game for de-acking.  Come in high, fire 3-4, pull back up with it's powerful WEP.  Rinse and repeat.  If you do take hits, it can absorb a bit more damage than many other rides.

The reason I asked....

Didnt track or turret him, he went right on deacking the field untill I put a 500KG right on his head.

Looks like he was tracked already, and used some nearby supplies (he's back upright in the last pic), so maybe you did damage him, but he repaired it right away?

There anti tank rockets. I've gotten 1 shot kills against a tigers frontal armor before. Only once, since it is really hard to fly so low, and aim the rocket before you're past them.

And likely the reason you didn't do anything is because he had some V supps right next to him. Thats the only thing I can think of. Looks like you got a clean hit, a little wasteful with the rockets, but thats ok.

I agree with Krusty, craters are merely graphics, the terrain doesn't change near them.

Only cause for a tank to sit like that is a track...

hes not tracked in the beginning, I dont know why but in the film viewer hes bobbeling all around like that, but still moving, he had just pulled up to that hedge row when I hit him, he starts maneuvering again after the rockets, he was in a different spot when I bombed him.

at any rate yea, I had always heard the same, that if you popped a tank with one of those AT rockets it was pretty much done..  Yet I got a direct hit to the rear of the tank, and no result..  hence the  :headscratch:

I don't know what to say.  Those rockets are one hit kills on Tigers.  I have little experience attacking T-34s with them.

So he's shaking in the film? He's at a constant angle in all three of your pics, so I'm guessing you tracked him with one of your rockets that hit before you took the shot. And after you flew by with your rocket ricocheting off his sloped armor, he grabed some supplies and kept on rolling?

BTW, how long ago was this pic taken? Cause I remember a simmilar event happening to me. I was chugging along in a T-34 and started deacking, when a 190F comes by and hits me with rockets, then bombs me. I had someone flying fighter cover, were there any cons nearby?

since when do rockets bounce off of anything?  if they did I would think there would be an animation for it, not a hit sprite.

hes in the same position in all the pics because all 3 were taken in less than 1 second.  hes in a different position in the 4th because i waited a bit for the smake to clear to post the last pic.

No other friendlies were there initially, I was first "on the scene" another guy showed up and upped bombers, but he never did anything.

this is about 5 seconds before the rockets hit.

rear view of the hit..

I dunno why, in the viewer he is driving, level. and just before the rockets hit, he tilts all crazy, suspension going nuts, they hit, and then he sits level again..

I was wrong, he does not drive anywhere after the rockets hit, but he also is clearly not tracked.

You could have double tracked him, when a gv loses both tracks it looks as if nothing happened.

Ill bet the reason he was "wobbling" like you siad was that he was probably hung up on the hedgerow/bush/indestructable wall of hemp.  I would have tp agree on the nice hit, but he must have had supps next to him.
