Milk run?  Not really any more so than the bombing of strats are.  And these would move, and wouldn't show up on the map... so going off to find one would take a lot of time and effort.  Toss in a cruiser with its 5" guns and auto ack for larger convoys perhaps?

Indeed, without defense it's a milker. It needs ack AND ownership. Ownership would mean fighter cover, when possible. Why not tie it to resupply? We could have supply depots linked to the availability of field supplies at the bases.
Some say revenge is a dish best served cold. I say it's usually best served hot, chunky, and foaming. Eventually, you will all die in my vengeance vomit firestorm.

That's a good idea too.  Ownership yes... but control? ...Hmmm... not sure on that one.  If teams could control the convoys, they would either be used as extra firepower for amphib assaults, or they would get sent off to the corners of the map to be hidden where no one can get to them to attack them.  Neither of which is very realistic at all.

Tying them to resupply would be a good idea, but that would mean a complete redo of the current supply system.
