Hands down the thrustmaster t flight hotas. Cheapest HOTAS available and I've known a couple people that have had it for over a year and it is still fine.

Yeah I was actually thinking of getting that Hotas X and I'm very sorry I didn't as saitek support and the company i bought it from are giving me the run around and saying each are liable for the return or RMA. The cyborg X must have lasted 3-4 weeks max I reckon. That hotas looks sturdy.

yup like I said I picked up the CyborgX, friggin thing is a piece of crap!!!!  Buttons on the stick are already busted off(within 3 days), so I am gonna use it till it's totally  fubarred then picking up CH, screw the rest, I have been doing a lot of reading and its very hard to find anyone saying anything bad about CH.

New Thrustmaster T-flight Hotas X Joystick

That looks identical to the old TM afterburner i had .... except it was silver .  They have used that same design for years and tweaked the buttons a little , and changed the color. The one feature i liked about my old afterburner was you could adjust the stick tension with a dial on the bottom of the stick .

The feature that you mention about is still present in the current design, the range of adjustment is fairly big. Although even on the stiffest setting, it still comes no where near the Thrustmaster cougar joystick.

I had been using this joystick for some time, so far everything is working alright. For this price, it is well worth it. Setting is also very easy on Aces high 2, and there are enough buttons to configurate for a WWII fighter.

A small complain would be the small deadband located on the centre of the joystick, and I also find that the hat switch is a bit small.

Other than that, I am very happy with it !

I bought the Thrustmaster T1600M.  More buttons than my dearly departed MSFFB2.

Feels sturdy.  Works well.

Under $35 delivered.

Sticks ive had

Saitek 3d gold (good all around stick)
Saitek EVO  (nice and smooth.... the base moved to easily)
Saitek st290 (good all around)
Saitek X45  (hated the rocker rudder )
Saitek X52 ( notchy Y axis )

Thrustmaster Afterburner
TM Fox II
TM T1600M (good all around)

Microsoft 3d pro
MS Precision pro
MS precision pro 2 (had atleast 5-6 ...Best fit for me ...my favorite)

CH fighterstick
ch pro pedals
ch pro throttle

Logitech wingman extreme digital 3d
LGT wingman extreme 3d pro    (worst stick i ever owned... )

The MS PP2 IMHO was the best all around stick for a twisty. The CH setup was good but after 10 years of using a twist rudder ...i could not make the switch. The ch fighterstick has a twitchy y axis as did my X52 . All the calibrating ...scaling and dampening couldn't fix either of them (ch sent me a new pot that made it better ) . If you are looking for a cheap twisty the T1600 should be at the top of your list along with the saitek ST290 . If you want to pay 50 or more look at the cyborg series from saitek .
