JANUARY FSO: OPERATION PANZERFAUST SCORE
« on: January 30, 2010, 04:16:29 PM »
Ladies and Gents,

Final tallies:

Frame 1:

Russian
24.9 A2G
39.7 A2A

German
24.9 A2G
33.1 A2A

Frame 1 Final:  Russians 64.6 Germans 58.0

Frame 2:

Russians
30.9 A2G
30.4 A2A

Germans
18.9 A2G
33.9A2A

Frame 2 Final:  Russians 61.3 Germans 52.8

Frame 3:

Russians
12.5 A2G
29.9 A2A

Germans
37.5 A2G
28.8 A2A

Frame 3 Final:  Russians 42.4 Germans 66.3

I had a multitude of penalties for violations of the rearm rule, so I just tossed them.  There were enough violations on either side that, in the spirit of a grading curve, I decided to not enforce them.  Probably a bad rule on my part and I'm going to reevaluate how I use that in the future.

I'll be back in April.

Wow, really sucks for those of us that lost 8-10 pilots in a frame or two that tried to stick to the rule, and ended up crashing instead of landing.
All in all I thought it was a great rule idea to try and simulate the resources available on the front line.

Win some, lose some though eh?  :O

I did think of that before I made my decision to throw out the penalties.  So, appologies to you guys.  Bottom line is that I'm trying to admit that I made some errors judging the impact of the geometry I set up.  It wasn't good, and I let the map sort of paint me into a corner.  Ultimately, it wasn't my best setup, and I'm trying to publically acknowledge that.

:aok for admitting that you felt that the setup did not meet your expectations. Personally I believe that there was no problems in the setup or the rules. However, I do have a problem in tossing the penalties because so many violated the rearming rule regardless of whether they were ignorant of it, or chose to disregard it. The success of FSO requires that all squadrons/individuals have the necessary discipline to follow the rules, otherwise all the FSO becomes is another MA. To grant clemency, even in hindsight is to acknowledge that if enough people do not follow the rules then the rules don't matter. It is also an insult to those who did play by the rules.

To maintain continuity between events, it's as important that the CM's enforce the rules as it is for the players to follow them.
