maybe it's stupididea, but....
« on: May 16, 2000, 07:11:00 PM »
.....if we whining about some peoples etiquette (behaviour) in MA, maybe we should
teaching our newbies about it what is right or wrong and that kind of stuff.
i remember that when i came here first time
i was wathing very carefully what peoples doing and how they fighting and if i saw that someome killing planes in HO i started HOing too, 'cuz i swa it like the easy way to
get a kill. the same about vulching.....
maybe if we'll create some web page about etiquette for our newbies, and we'll start to
give him a good examples of it im MA they 'll
stop HOing or sht else that we don't like...
and maybe we shouldn't vulching and don't care so much about our stats.....
and one other thing. We all should stop whining that much about that great sim, 'cuz
AH is REALLY GREAT, and HTC crew put in it a lot of work and i'm sure that they doind his best.
P.S. i know that my english sucks....sorry about it
<S> all community! i having a great time with
yall

Hi bike killa...

I don't think it's a stupid idea, in fact, I think it's a great idea and so simple to implement.  Newsgroups on the Internet already have this kind of etiquette file.

It could be built right into the current HELP file accessed from the ESC menu when on the ground.

I guess the only issue is, what is acceptable versus unacceptable behavior?

In any event, an excellent idea.....good thinking. <salute>

IMHO People will squeak about anything and everthing. I have found, correct me if I'm wrong(set myself up), the two main breeches of ettiquete are shootin chutes and cursin. The rest, HO's, vulchin etc. etc. are the evils that we must come to terms with in our own way.

the Head on shot is a gamble shot which ussually results in one plane damaged and the other destroyed or both aircraft destroyed. The only a/c I HO in AH is the macci 202.

I find the Head On shot can easily be avoided and gives the shooter a slight disadvantage if the target evades the head on and begins to setup for an offensive while the Head on shooter continues to bleed E and loose position while firing a stream of ammo at the target which almost always misses if the target is offsetting to one side.

This is the only simulation I have found where tactics such as avoiding a head on attack in favor of gaining position, scissors and overshoots have a significant impact on the fight.

I have no complaints about the HO as a tactic, but those who do resort to it get upset when they loose the gamble.
