"the best guys in Doa used to hide in the clouds"

What clouds? My addled ol' memory tells me DoA skies were clear except for archie bursts. Perhaps you meant hiding like a Hun in the (rather small and pathetic) DoA sun?

DoA started out a great sim but defied logic by getting progressively worse as it went on. Its peak was the 2.75 version, with artillery-spotting, Zeppelins and a halfway-decent planeset. However, it didn't have 'flamers' in its 2.75 incarnation because the 'Blazing Bug' (fighters that flew on and fought perfectly well without wings long after being set alight) was never fixed, just side-lined. And the 'Flyboys' version still available in the Warbirds stable is a total travesty, e.g. the SE5a's overwing Lewis being replaced by a floppy Parabellum look-alike with no upward firing ability.

So long as AH's WWI sim develops into a decent representation of the full War in the Air, Western Front, 1914-18, I'll be very happy to fly an artillery-spotter again. And my SE5a 'Ol' McScotch', of course, especially if I have realistic clouds to hide in.

I left WB/DOA about the 2.7 era, loved flying an SE5 and calling in arty on a field.

Hoping that in time this will be even better.

Bustr, You are very kind Sir, You taught me well Bustr,........ You taught me to laugh at myself.  You taught me things like check your ego at the door.   you taught me that the game and life are not about you. ....That the game and the paralell of  life is all about giving and thinking of others. You taught me that  what ever I do....if it feels good in my heart than it must be the right thing to do. We all can share in bringing something positive to the game as you do bustr<S>.  Finally bustr you taught me never to fly fighters.....I think you said something like "you really suck in fighter!"
