HTC - Lancaster official workshop manual
« on: May 12, 2000, 11:20:00 AM »
Hi

I know that the Lancaster is nearly upon us   and I'm sure we all can't wait!

I have been loaned a reprint of the original workshop manual for the Lancaster for a short period of time and I am just wondering that if there are any minor technical details that you require then I can try and look them up.  I am sure you have all the relevent information but since I've been loaned this manual I just thought I'd ask in any case.

Cheers

Thanks for the offer.  I don't know what would be in the workshop manual that would be useful to me, but if I find myself lacking something that I need, I'll give you a shout.

The manual is basically official 'Air Publication' (AP) which still continue today (I know, damn pain to read at times!   ).

The contents are:-

Leading particulars (specs), Pilot's controls and equipment.

Pilots and flight engineer's notes

Controls and equipment at crew stations

Instructions for ground personnel

Removal and assembly operations

Electrical & radio installation - maintenance

Design and construction of airframe

Engine installation

Hydraulic & pneumatic systems

Electrical & radio installations - description

Armament and general equipment

I just wish I had my own copy of this manual!

Regards
