Paper Tigers

Ok... so I was interested in trying some cross country driving last night in a panzer.  The terrain was a challenge but very enjoyable.  I finally arrive off the enemy base, shoot some field ack with APs (all I had), a couple of Osties at the VH, and some other fun stuff.

Next thing I see is an M16 pop up, he immediately floors it making himself a very tough shot.  A couple of pings, I'm immobile.  Next ping, engine dead.  Two more, I'm dead

WHEN will armor have ARMOR?  Sheesh

The Mark IV series never got a intimidating nick name for a reason.

And this is not it.  :)

Hiya Alpo! An M16 take out a Panzer? Never seen it and I've tried like the dickens before too. Spent several full loads of .50 at em and they've only laughed at me. I wonder f you were tagged by the mannable ack (think there is a tracer bug still with these) or by a buddy of his while you watched him?

Hiya Westy!  I don't think it was the 37mms.  The rate of fire was too high.  When I said pings, I meant ratta-tat pings  ;)  Kinda like being chased by a Spit with no cannons.

I even jumped to the MG to look for a strafing plane and none were there.  Seems strange to me that an osty required TWO APs to blow and a Panzer (yes, a Mark IV  :D  ) gets wasted by .50s

I've had the same thing happen to me a couple times, took out by an M16 (and only an M16) twice in an Osti and once in a Panzer.

yuck. That's new and if .50's can take out a Panzer then it's also WAY off and I hope they unfix that asap.

:o   Ooops, I guess this has been hashed over before in the Bugs List.  Ronni acknowledged that they were looking at GV stuff.

(1) .50 cal bullet, shot at 90 degree angle, will take out tracks on Panzers.  That's why I don't drive them anymore.
