Natedog/Superfly: TBM-3 references and scale model
« on: September 19, 2000, 06:49:00 PM »
great reference link with all manner of
 detail color shots
 http://www.hyperscale.com/reference/TBM3CC_1.htm

also...
Accurate Miniatures TBM-3 Avenger 1/48 scale
 plastic kit.
 http://www.accurateminiatures.com/ATE3404.HTM
 http://www.accurateminiatures.com/

if yer gonna build an avenger this little
plastic kit will help ya out a lot with the
 interior modelling and exterior proportions
 checks.
it models the entire interior of the TBM-3
and all the exterior proportions and
 details are incredibly accurate...
it has all interior colors diagrammed and
 exterior camo schemes too

enjoy

Did you build that kit Citabria? Nice job! If I get to work on my Ki-44 kit, will they add that?

Citabria, show us more your completed models!!  (Currently working on getting a dedicated model room here....I have enough unbuilt kits to start my own hobby store!!!..hehe)

This is like getting a present.  I asked for the TBM-3E, and HTC is now modelling it.

Beauty of a kit. Great reference. Got one unbuilt.
I am just cutting plasic on my F4U1d....
Always had a warm spot for the avenger. Used to see them as water bombers when I was a kid.

Got a question fer ya. Are the arrows on Navy planes there for a reason? Like is it to tell naval aviators which way is up and which way the plane flies when going forward????

superfly the pics that show the bombardiers compartment on http://www.hyperscale.com/reference/TBM3CC_1.htm
are probably not to good as they are of what apears to be a modified firefighting avenger thats been a bit stripped out.

the model is a good reference though

heres a better pictures link... http://www.kiwiaircraftimages.simplenet.com/avenger.html

the lower 30cal gun port windows on this avenger have also been modified though so that area isn't very accurate for a tbm-3 of ww2
