Small addition to E6B feature.
« on: October 04, 2010, 06:26:10 PM »
Can we please have a readout of how fast we are accelerating, would be in handy when bombing things from high alts because not many people have the speed chart of any one bomber memorized.

Accl: +25   (.25 mph per minutes)

Discuss this please.

QFT, I use it religiously.  Might not be perfect but it does give you a good sense.   :salute

I don't have a dang thing memorized; I just give myself enough time to stabilize my speed and know how to read the E6B.  I bomb just fine, what little time I spend in bombers.

Really don't need acceleration to bomb well or memorized speed's either.

Take the time to setup a good approach. Give yourself 10 miles to let your speed settle.
Do a good 10 - 14 second calibration. Pull up the E6b, and use RPM to make actual speed the same as calibrated. If you did everything right usually 2 or 3 taps of the - key will have you balanced out.

Then zoom in and drop your chosen targets.

Reading this it just dawned on me.........  Bombing, in a large way, is directly connected to your setup.  If you have a full functioning throttle vs. a throttle on the stick vs. + - keys...............  Remembering back to when I used the keyboard, it took FOREVER to get in the -0 0 area.

Im horrible at bombing things, this never occurred to me as the way to measure acceleration.

Thank you.

Get your E6B to 0 climb rate at any speed, calibrate for 10 sec or longer. If you use 500lbs bombs drop on leading edge of target, you will hit it 90% of time from 20k or less. Above 20k use 1000lbs bombs :salute
