Dragster crash......Wow!

Driver is okay, cant believe he didn't lift a lot sooner though, throttle looks like it is still open in the second to last frame.

You don't usually have wheelie bars on rail cars.

Ouch.... Out of curiosity, how long did it take to go from all wheels on the ground to the point of liftoff? Just wondering if the driver could have noticed what was happening and stopped the reaction.

We were discussing this on a another forum, it looks like the first picture is at the starting line. The second picture is about 175 out, still saveable there. That represents about 1.50 to 1.75 seconds, easily within the reaction time of the driver. He may have tried to peddle it but not given it enough time to settle the front end down. When you lift the wheels like that you try to be on the gas as  you set it back down. Easier said than done though, blower motors are like light switches when you get this power level.

Still doesnt explain why he is at full throttle in the second to last frame...

Looks like throttle stuck wide open and he caught wind...probably didn't think about hitting the kill switch...I'm surprised the motor didn't blow.

Most cars that run seven seconds or slower in the 1/4 don't....this was a deep six second 200 mph ride, it should have had one.
