Battlefield : Bad Company 2

I just got this game today for the PC. After downloading it however I get this messege that says my current version needs to be updated so I click the option to update. After that I get the same messege again saying the same thing.
Both messeges look like this:

"Your version is: 515195
Latest version is: 519874

You'll have to update to the latest version to be able to play.
Do you want to update to the latest version?"

 After I click yes to downloading it again it begins to download for a minute then I get this messege:


"File not found.
Their might be an internet connection problem or server is down.
Play the old version?"

I clicked yes and have played several campain missions and its awsome, graphics are amazing. I created an EA account but whenever I go to the multiplayer section and search for games to join it always returns with a "no games found" messege. I am guessing this is because I am on the "old version"?

So my question is are the servers just down like it suggested? (My internet connection is not an issue.) Or is this a bug or something im doing wrong?? Im dying to play online.

Yea i havent beem able to connect now sense early morning on the 11th, no servers on the list or they show up cant get in, i guess on there forum theres over a 99 page thread of people who cant connect to play, even sense the release, all i get is cant connect to EA please try again lol UGH    reading there forum of enraged customers threating everthing under the sun to please get the game working, i did find this and being im just as mad as the others i laughed when i seen it.

EDIT: doh! I just typed this whole thing up but looks like it actually IS the servers and not my fault...hehe with that update bug/problem I was having I was sure it was something on my end messing it up .

Did you attempt to manually patch the game?

Stodd go into you BC2 folder there will be 2 icons one is the BC2.exe icon which is the icon you would click to enter the game,there is also another icon BC2updater.exe click that icon that one will go and update it, they have been having some problems with the exe updating to the right version, double click the BC2updater that should solve your problem

edit.... did you buy the game from a store or is it a digital download thru steam or another place like that? they have been having problems with the digital downloads as well as retail store versions, but man i love the game when i can connect

I'm hoping punkbuster and server admins will put the kibosh of most of that.  Ran into a couple of love muffines tonight that let someone on my team get their goat.  They switched teams and then proceeded to blow mcoms they were supposed to be defending.  So in a way it's looking like MW2 in more ways that just one.

I maxed out the recon upgrades, im trying to get the medic up to the mg3 machine gun..and boy do I suck, I can hit so much with the sniper rifles, long distance, moving targets etc..when ever I play the medic Im lucky to get more than one kill, even at close range i struggle
