how are you gonna find the bad guys without icons?? i like short range and i like no low icons, but if you really want to get rid of them, why not just shut them off youself. i don't want anyone to make me not have any. that wont be any fun. i might shoot my own guys!!
You look for them.
Its not really hard to find them you will pick up on the movement.Turn off your enemy icons and fly around you'll see its not so hard.
The Idea is to have it be the same playing field so they would need to be off for everyone. Its about a challenge and a more immerse experience.
actually most of my setups are short icon enemy and no icon below 900. we could try it and shut radar and I'm sure there would be <sarcasm>swarms of people waiting to jump into the AVA<sarcasm>!
I think you'd have a tough time with NO ICON, however i would be willing to try it for one night to see what happens.
Well the masses would not go for it. Most like the easy path. The numbers are always less in no icon servers in most sims. But with no Icon servers you tend to pull a different caliber of pilot in,Much less shoulder shooting, and a tendency to use effective wing man tactics, squad training,communication and Navigation skills are essential.
Any way, I had posted in the "I wish" forum before I realised that you guys set up your arena with balanced plane sets and short icons,
somebody said to post over here.
I in no way am trying to change what you guys have going on, It was just a thought.
I thought it might be cool to have a regular group of 30 or so guys that frequented a server like that. Players that were into that type of set up.
I think the best way to keep guys on the hook would be to have close bases this way it would compensate for the smaller population of pilots in the arena.
