Its a Greybox MkIIb.

It has been used quite successfully against the blue Os by the red Xs.  You can clearly see the red X markings in the white square situated in the middle of the Greybox MkIIb

This appears to a captured Fw 190A-3 in British colors.

Say Karnak, I hear the Greybox Mk IIb was actually based on the blue Os Er 404 in the first place...

Isn't that the Fw-190 that the pilot accidently landed at a British airfield when he thought he was actually at his airfield over France? That's what he gets for using the same compass I use (No!, The other West!!!)

Not sure Sundog, But I had heard that story as well. I wonder why no one tried to shoot him down as he approached. Another argument for "Delayed Ack" in AH possibly

Probably because lowering one's wheels was considered as a sign of surrendering. We may assume that Triple A crews viewed that as the case. Of course, it might be more simple than that. It's perfectly reasonable that a single aircraft was ignored as a threat and, therefore surprised everyone when it landed on the field.

Ok knights,
Big raid tonight. Don't forget to lower your gear though before the field is in sight. They'll never suspect a thing.

Well it might work

Seriously though Widewing you are probably right. (Nice to see all those WWII Aircraft recognition magazines were put to such good use).

Reminds me of the picture of a captured B-17 in Luftwaffe markings.  Nice pic!
