Vista & AH & TrackIR Problem with running AS ADMINISTRATOR
« on: March 14, 2010, 04:32:47 PM »

I don't know if this is an AH bug, but its worth mentioning incase someone else runs into it so they can find this on search.

I recently realized my TrackIR reset and pause key were not working.  It was driving me crazy trying to figure out why.

I finally realized it was due to me having set my chortcut to run AH "As Administrator" so patches would install seamlessly.

For some reason, in this mode AH doesn't appear to be allowing TrackIR to sniff those key strokes.

Hmmm just had a thought.  I need to try and run the TrackIR software "AS ADMINISTRATOR" as well.  Maybe two administrators can talk to each other.   :headscratch:

Or maybe I should just reinstall XP.

If you do not install the game and the TrackIR software in the "Program Files" folder, there is no need to run the game as administrator as patches will install correctly outside the "Program Files" folder.

This is all caused by UAC.
