I disagree wholeheartedly, It is about the dogfighting.
And I disagree wholeheartedly with you.
WWI crates are fun. Dogfighting is fun. But for many, if not mist players, just furballing between two bases gets old... quickly for some, slower for others.
I'm having a blast, but in a few days I will be back to the WW2 MA's, just for the richer variety... not necessarily in planes, but on a tactical level.
That being said I do not wish for any "capture" game like in WW2 aren. WWI front lines were pretty much static most of the time anyway.
But the WWI arena could, benefit in my humble opinion, from a few added targets & mission types. Put in one bomber, and/or attacker, give it some ground targets , and maybe even some kind of recon. Leave the fields alone (the strong ack will make any bombing attempt futile for the most part).
The variety of situations and combat types could increase tremendously. Escorts, intercepts, missions... and all without capturing or dropping hangars.
