Logitech G940 and Win7 - how many running this combo?

Just wondering if anybody else had problems with rudder axes spiking...

If I install the G940 drivers on my laptop (Vista) I have no spiking at all.  Trying to determine is its a driver issue with the mobo or the G940s drivers under Win7....

Looked at the Logitech boards and noticed that most instances of issues of spiking were attributed to hardware issues.  Also found out that the throttle and pedals use potentiometers while the joystick uses Hall sensors. 

Are you using a powered USB hub by any chance?  If not, I would seriously recommend that you do with a setup like the G940.  In any case, you may want to seriously think about contacting them and getting an RMA so they can replace your pedals or return it at the point of purchase. 

Reading the Logitech forums, I'm glad I decided to hold off on getting one myself.  Actually, leaning towards not getting one as it seems the G940 has a lot of issues like the throttles spiking or not working, the profiler crashing with a BSOD if trying to program certain combination commands, deadzone issue with older FFB and non-FFB games, etc.

Yep, have a Belkin powered hub.   Spiking on the rudder pedal axis occurs whether I use the hub or not though.   I have an open ticket with Logitech support, and have downloaded the newest drivers, which made no difference.  They also suggested trying them on a different computer, so I installed them on my personal laptop, and had no spiking issue at all.

So I'm wondering if it could be a Windows 7-related driver problem, or maybe the drivers for my Mobo?   I have a Gigabyte EP45 series board, and haven't checked if there are updated drivers available.

Failing that, would I have to breakdown and buy a copy if Vista to install on my game machine just to check out my theory?

Should mention too, that my copy of Win 7 is the beta version I downloaded shortly before Win7 was released.

Mine works, no spiking with Win7 64 bit RC1 or retail.

Working with Windows 7 and have not had any issues with it yet.  Did have a problem with my system where is would just cut out.  Got a RMA and sent back for replacement.  Waiting for UPS to get it to me.  They said I was not available for signature Friday.  Funny at the time they said they tried to deliver it I was plowing my driveway.  Must have pushed them into the snow bank.  Lucky for me because i ordered mine system close to Christmas my daughter had already bought me one.  So I have 2 systems and have not missed a beat.  Won't tell my daughter that though.  Accept for the one problem I love the system. It beats the hell out of my X52 which I loved.  Like all new products it will take some time.  Maybe wait for a year then check them out.

G940 & Win 7 64-bit Home edition here - running without any problem. The hardware is top-notch --- the profiler is, let's say, lacking...     But hope dies last - and the devs are 'working' on it...

I had a problem using the coolie hat mini-axis on the stick as a flaps switch. I fixed it by setting it to 3 zones and making the middle zone 50% and leaving the middle zone unassigned. The top zone is set to flaps up and the bottom to flaps down. That eliminates the calibration problem I was having with it. You still have to push the coolie hat into all 4 corners every time you reboot to reset the calibration.

999,999,999,999 times out of 1,000,000,000,000, a spiking logitech stick is crappy construction on Logitech's part. Send 'er back, IMO.

I do admit I don't have this stick and have no experience with this specific stick, but the ONLY things logitech can make without them being utter CRAP are wired keyboards and wired mice. I have a lot of experience with the company products in general and they are poorly made (or designed) across-the-board by the cheapest labor that China/wherever can cobble together.

I finally got permission to send it back under warranty and have done so.  Logitech's tech support ranks among the worst I have ever dealt with however.  After being promised a pre-paid shipping label in under 24hrs, it took more than a week and 3 reminder emails before I actually got the label.
I bought this unit in November, noticed the problem within a month, and have been attempting to get it repaired since then.

Believe I have pretty much crossed Logitech off my list for any further components of any kind based on this experience, regardless of the outcome with the G940 repairs.
