WW1 wishes
« on: March 10, 2010, 09:14:53 PM »
1. The map is too big currently, 6 bases is too much... At the moment, I think there should only be 3 bases, in a triangle, one base per country... Maybe it's set up this way for testing usage, but, as it was this afternoon with 80 players, its was a one-base-is-meeting-place-gang from 2 other countries, cuz thats where the fights were. the other 2 countries couldnt even fight each other without meeting at ours.

2. need visual for pilot wound.. If you're not listening closely for that pilot wound sound, you wont even know you've been shot (!) until you start blacking out.

I would agree on some kind of splatter visual for PW. Although you figure it out pretty quick.

My WW1 'wants':

1) More Royal Aircraft Factory products to fly: the SE5a, RE8, BE series and FE2b/d.

2) Two 'countrys' instead of the nonsensical three.

3) Realistic trench lines separated by no-man's-land.

4) Artillery, and spotting for it; it was the most effective aerial method of killing of the Great War and a fascinating skill to master. Art-obs aircraft like the RE8 provided good targets for the Jastas too.

5) Observation balloons (which some AHers are incorrectly calling 'barrage balloons').

6) More Hun aircraft types: the Albatros B, C and D-series, DFW C.V two-seater, Hannover CL.III and Pfalz D.III and D.XII. And a Zeppelin to grab for in my single-seat BE2c night-fighter.

7) An early-war planeset: Fokker Eindekker v. Airco DH2, Halberstadt D.II v. BE2c, etc.

Reckon that'll do for now - cheers!

My wish is that the MA/DA ganging and "get a kill at any cost" mentality goes away.  Two airbases for each side is fine with me.  I'll fly away from the horde; someone will up for a quiet fight, then a few more, then we have a good 3v3 and let the 80 other MA horde-dudes play "over there yonder-ways" and leave us to our fights.

In the WWI arena - as in all the rest - I fly for the fights, not the kills and score.

ammo reload should be added too
and blood splatter, and the pilot screaming loudly in pain when injured or on fire

x-Whatever on the pained screams of burning pilots. A visual indicator of the PW would be nice too- some gore on the IP, something simple- I normally hear the sound, but not always. Maybe a scream would work there too, but a visual of some sort would be great.
