Random idea I had for the WWI arena at work last night...
« on: March 18, 2010, 11:08:18 AM »
Since theres obviously no actual radar in WWI, and its probably assumed that the radar map is updated and maintained by 'observers', would it be feasible to tie the arena radars to kite balloons? One tethered near each aerodrome, near the field ack and surrounded by more (like it would have been in the War) to protect it, and destroying it works the same as knocking down the field radar tower in the WWII arenas?

Maybe even have the balloons count as a category of a2a kill as it did IRL?

Not really much good in a furball arena, but if we ever get strats and 'objectives' (or in the AvA arena and scenarios), might add an interesting dimension to the combat.

Treize (pronounced 'trays')- because 'Treisprezece' is too long and even harder to pronounce.

Absolutely

Anything that gives people an incentive to attack, will cause the enemy to fight to protect.

In short, furball starters. If there are more than one, you might end up with a couple of smaller furballs instead of 1 giant one.

I don't really even care much about the WWI arenas in of themselves, I just want it available for Scenarios, FSO, etc.
Ron White says you can't fix stupid. I beg to differ. Stupid will usually sort itself out, it's just a matter of making sure you're not close enough to become collateral damage.

I remember the balloon busting in DoA with the bottle rockets in the camel, lots of fun if it had defenders.
No thank you Turkish, I'm sweet enough.
