The times I have used the F2Whirble include:
-6 on 1, their favor.
-Attacking vulchers who attempt it, and the ack didn't kill those D. VII's for some reason.
-For fun!

After all, a plane sitting on the ground is very easy to kill, especially with the easy flamings of planes. I fly the F2B for its versatility, speed, and maneuverability. The rear gun is an added bonus.

Those BristolWribles are easy to defeat. I just orbit above them and strafe them with my tail gun.  :D

oh i killed him alright  but took a few attempts thanks to my pilot dozing off.

is there a reason why in the MA and any other arena for that matter gunners are turned off ON THE GROUND?

ok so it is one measly machine gun but my argument still stands.  No-one in their right mind would land their F2B in a field and sit there in the gun position shooting at enemy fighters

perhaps he ditched, lost his engine, was forced to land?

There are times when I'll ditch and use the gun after suffering a fuel leak or to much battle damage. But rarely get any kills doing that. Usually I'm just an easy kill.

I just tried to do the F2b tail gun on the ground, and I don't see why there are complaints. The gun barely raises above the tree tops, only a fool would low level strafe him.

Uhm, maybe because we have a base capture mechanism in MA and ackstars used to park near map room (or even just on the rwy before we had map rooms). There is no base capture or any form of ground attack in WW1 so far so I really don't see a problem with grounded F2s shooting their rear gun.

yes, bombers would launch, and ack star incoming fighters without ever leaving the ground.

However, there is a big difference between a B17 (or a dozen b17's) sitting on the runway shooting at anything that moves with their multiple .50's and a single .30 cal gunner in a F2b.

Since airfield vulching is a non issue anyway, all you are left with is the occasional F2b who lands/ditch's and mans gun for a few minutes. Not even in the same class as far as effecting gameplay. Not even close.

Yes if your close the icon may be hard to pick out, but its there.  Shouldn't take even 1 guy long to finish off a non moving target.
