Game Freezing or CTD after 15 minutes?
« on: March 16, 2010, 02:46:50 PM »
Hello, I've been struggling with this one now for two weeks, Here is the history:

Changed Motherboard, CPU and Ram and then did a fresh install of winXP64 on a new HDD.

AH Runs for about 15 minutes, everytrhing looks great and then it suddenly freezes.  ( Installed a few other games such as Crysis, IL2 1946, SupCom Etc all those run fine. )

Motherboard = Asus M3N-HD/HDMI
CPU=AMD AM2+ 6000
Ram=4 Gig Dual Channel SLI Certified

Tried my Geforce 7800GT's in SLI ( Worked on old MOBO in AH )
Tried Single Card ( 7800 GT )
Tried Onboard ( 750a Chipset supposedly an 8300 but i'm sure it's lying )

Tried both Onboard sound and the current SB Audigy

Using the onboard ethernet adapter.
here is the first half of the  DXDiag.

Alot of the drivers show dates of 2009 but this is the latest I could get from Nvidia and SB....

Try running the game in Windows 98/Windows ME compatibility mode.  You may have one of the AMD CPU's which the AMD fix does not fix.

Thank You Skuzzy,  combination of compatability mode and then setting processor affinity to a single CPU Seems to have done the trick, the compatabilty mode made it work for about 45 minutes.

Case Closed.
