rearm pad load out
« on: March 17, 2010, 10:36:36 AM »
I was wondering how difficult it would be to have the option to change fuel load and/or Ordnance payload at the re-arm pad?!?!? I couldnt believe it when I asked and found that it wasnt an option. Just a thought.

I think 30 seconds to rearm is compromise enough....

Cant help but think how many times you could land, rearm, takeoff and live to fly on yet have all the fighter hangers down.

It's been asked for many many times.  And it's been shot down many many times.  Just end your sortie and change your loadout in the hanger.  What's so hard about that?

There would be an added element of immersion knowing you could change your loadouts without having to replane.  Many times I would have liked to swap DTs for TNTs.  Its not a game shaker, just would be a nice addition to capabilities.  I do believe HT has basically waved this one off.

If we took a base I was flying at, I always thought it would be neat to rearm and change out bombs for a DT for a fighter sweep...

I don't know how American planes work, but on German planes and some others, a plane can not just take off clean and then be equipped with a drop tank, as you would need to install the rack which I don't think is a 30 second process. And of course there are separate racks for drop tanks and bombs. I know that most American planes have external stores hard points by default, however I don't know whether a hard point that is set up to carry a bomb can just have a drop tank hooked to it... and of course even American aircraft don't have rocket hard points by default.

So you fly an attack sortie that turns out to not be needed for the base capture.  So you want to swap that sortie for a fighter sortie, even though it's really a new sortie.  Sounds like you are very concerned about your score and the "kills per sortie" rating.  And you probably will fly that fighter sweep in attack mode; to preserve your fighter score.

Makes no difference to me whether this wish is implemented or not - game the game as much as you want if that's what's important to you.  I highly doubt HTC would be spending the man-hours and payroll to add this feature just so some people can play this game "more gamier".

I just thought a simple dot command would do the trick for whatever your needs are, I wont bring up why the question occured to me since its obvious noone cares, but for all of you who are on the " it isnt realistic.." bandwagon, I feel sorry for you, ITS A GAME YOU FRAKKEN DORKS. :noid

It may be a game in your opinion, but that doesn't mean it should be airquake.

Yes it is a game, so now when your horde bombs a field flat before taking it you can realize that it has
consequences.  No score-potatoing for you unless you return to a field with facilities.
