Bombers dont sustain autopilot
« on: March 18, 2010, 12:40:02 PM »
It happend to me and my dad GrnEagle we would fly a bomber and have it on autopilot (level) and a few seconds later it would come off we calibrated our sticks but it still happends it does the same for autopilot (speed)
I dont know of this is a bug or anything but just wanted to see if anyone else was having this problem <S>

Check to see if your stick is spiking on any of the 3 axises{axii}.

If the numbers are changing without input this could cause AP to turn off.

 hope that helps.

My X52 does that all the time.

Recalibrate your joystick and you'll be fine.. until it goes out of whack again.

Been averaging about once a night for me.

As others have already pointed out, this is most likely caused by a hardware issue, specifically your controllers.  A spike, no matter how large or small it is will cause the auto-pilot to disengage.  If you're still experiencing this after repeated recalibrations, it may be a sign that the potentiometers or sensor (depending on what the stick uses) is going bad.

I was having the same problem last night in the Typhoon last night. It occurred at random intervals so I was thinking it may be my stick, but it did not occur in any other planes.

Check the other forums... Folks mentioning similar issues in 262s and all sorts of planes.

Something with the WW1 update messed up the autopilot settings.

My B-17s maintained autopilot just fine in the early morning hours of 19 March 2010.

Thanks Krusty, kinda figured that it was a similiar issue. It doesn't do it all the time. I will try to catch it on film next time.

haven't had any problems since patch 3 except for super panzers....

The deathstar super lazer gets you every damn time, and your shells just bounce off the 500mm armor. AND the 12" AA guns on the sides protect it from planes.
