you do realize it is very bad form to HO on first merge right?

I guess not...

I will give you a bit of constructive criticism, You need to keep your eye on the nme, and DON'T HO on first merge.

although many people feel a HO merge at any point is bad form.

Well looking at that, your post in the O'club was a little ....a lot.....weird in the way it was.....

For a couple of pointers if you are at all interested...I did notice AKAK offering some advice.....and he kicks me about the arena a lot but..these are a couple of staples that you need to know and work on from the start.

1 learn to keep an eye on the con...you were often flying blind and had only a generalized idea of where he was...with guys like this...well actually all for that matter, keeping your eye on the prize is the most important thing.

2 don't head on every time...you blew it on every occasion because you pushed to get that shot...AKAK knew what you were up to and forced you to over exert yourself knowing that by the time you recovered he would be in a position that you had no escape from.

3 listen and know your plane...don't keep chopping and changing...pick a plane a learn it...3-4 tours solid...if you die and you will a lot in the beginning just keep upping it....before long you will have a good understanding on how much you can push it...this is where the advice of the stall buffer AKAK was explaining to you comes into play...riding the buffer ...knowing when you are about to lose it and when you are able to push a bit more.


As a side note...you need to cool down and understand that this game is not one that you can get instant gratification from....there is no easy mode....there are no power ups...there are guys here who have been about since the invention of the wheel and it shows in the way they push these pixels about....they didn't get to this standard in the two week trial.

Ok, my advice.

The most important thing I think you need to learn, for this game and for life, is to say "I'm wrong."

You are so convinced that it isn't your fault that you can muster up an excuse for everything instead of admitting that those other people around you may know more about this than you.  Take a big ole' bite of humble pie and take the opportunity to learn from guys like AckAck, Krusty, VonMessa.

I think i'll quit pickin' at the kid. :) At least he has the balls to try to stand up for himself. We all knew he wouldn't stand a chance...like most of us :lol, He'll be alright I reckon.

The're been times in this game that we've all takin' beat downs. I'm sure AckAck has hundreds of times.  Some of us take them on a daily basis :furious (friggen Shawk)  :furious When you get sick of it enough and still want to play and be competitve at it, you HAVE to read, practice and train with folks that know how to do it. Beat downs are also a great training tool.

The way Cobra is jumping around, I'd say he's flying with the mouse. If that's the case he needs to go get a 20$ ST290 at Walmart and go from there. Read as many boring Techincal Support threads on this BBS as you can stand, and learn about sound/graphic settings and such. Read what more experienced players are saying about aircraft and styles of play.

This game takes time....and money. A 17 year old kid don't have much of any.  I didn't anyhow.
