Mic Issues in win 7
« on: April 09, 2010, 08:58:47 PM »
Much to the dismay of my Squadies,my mic works fine when I use Win xp.When I use 7 the damned computer doesnt even FIND it. I have issues with my MBR on my XP partition, dual boot same drive, and am forced to use Win 7 till I get it fixed.
Anyone else run into mic issues with 7? :furious

Yes...I ran into problems...

My SB card would not work at all..Audigey 2ZS with W7x64...and neither would the RealTek Mobo sound drivers...

It wasn't until I unloaded the SB card, unloaded the drivers, unloaded the RealTek drivers and let the native Win7x64 OS do its own searching did the mic finally work...and that was after some fiddling with the sound/record controls as well...

You are not alone...there are dozens if not hundreds of google search pages regarding issues with W7x64 and 32bit sound hardware...

I got into the settings and tried a few things. For 1 the recording was using the Logitec cam I have,so I yanked that. Then I tried using the digital audio interface. That fixed it.Ya gotta get into the settings and get your hands dirty it seems.

I did at first but you have to work through the set-up and control panel to activate the mike. Can't remember exactly how I did it, but it is in configuring.

control panel >speech recognition> set up mike then follow the instructions.  you may have to mess up with mike set up in sounds first
