Not really, I would imagine updating all our planes to the new damage model would take some time(I may be wrong). To see it come out one version after WWI just seemed like a surprise and I was wondering if there was any credence to the claim. Updating just a few of them seems unfair though, as it would give an advantage to the older style damage model I would think.
Fixing a tree's alpha image on the other hand should be a walk in the park.
